The Car
The team is currently working to design and manufacture its first solar car. The car is being completely designed from the ground up with many ideas coming from time tested designs from successful solar cars in the past. By combining these proven designs with our own concepts, we will be working to make the car as lightweight and aerodynamic as possible to minimize the power requirements.
The car will be a three wheeled design with a tubular steel chassis for strength and weight considerations. Enclosing the chassis will be a carbon fiber composite shell that will not only support the solar array but streamline the aerodynamics of the vehicle to reduce drag. All electrical and mechanical components will be located inside the shell and mounted on the chassis.
