Goals/Objectives -Goals/Objectives -*The team primarily works on industry-sponsored projects related to casting, machining, and wrought processing of metals and metallic components. We fabricate patterns for sand molds, permanent molds, dies for die-casting, and specialized components for our sponsors and other enterprises on campus. AME also designs, manufactures, and markets products conceived within the enterprise. The team works on component design (CAD/CAM/solidification modeling), fabrication (machining, casting, wrought processing), and performance characterization (microstructure, mechanical properties). In addition to the technical exchange, our sponsors look to the AME membership for summer internships and full-time hires.
