Mission Statement: To help Michigan Tech's Administration effectively engage the University community in reducing our carbon footprint.

Current Projects:
Wind Energy:
Researching the prospects and requirements for installing wind turbines at or near Michigan Tech.
Dining Services:
Analyzing potential options to reduce the carbon footprint of Michigan Tech's Dining Services.
Carbon Inventory:
Using the Clean Air-Cool Planet (CA-CP) carbon calculator to analyze carbon emissions sources at Michigan Tech. Also, using the calculator to predict future emissions growth and to evaluate the benefits of proposed emissions reduction projects at Michigan Tech.
Campus Culture:
Developing plans to install electrical meters in selected areas of the campus residence halls. These meters measure energy usage and will be used as a baseline for an energy-saving competition between the dorms. Also, encouraging collaboration among green groups on campus and establishing outreach activities in the community.
Campus Computing:
Researching means to reduce power consumption associated with campus computing and implement power reduction procedures on a test group of computers.
Campus Buildings:
Working to reduce the electrical consumption of lighting and heating systems on campus.
